The Creighton Disability Accommodation and Awareness Committee is a Presidential committee formed to provide information on accessibility, to the Creighton community. We are comprised of individuals from all areas of the university, which include faculty members, staff from each Vice Presidential/Vice Provost area, and students.

Section 504 Coordinator

No otherwise qualified individual with a disability in the United States . . . shall, solely by reason of his or her disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance . . . .  29 U.S.C. ยง 794(a).

The Rehabilitation Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in programs receiving federal financial assistance and in the employment practices of federal contractors.  Each federal agency has its own set of  504 regulations but all include reasonable accommodation for employees with disabilities, program accessibility, effective communication for individuals who have hearing or vision disabilities, and accessible new construction.
