We, the African American students of Creighton University, deploring discrimination and ignorance of our culture, wish to render aid to new students in adjusting to university life and educate the Creighton community about our culture. In order to do so, CUASA will be a support group for not only African American students, but also to all students who wish to work toward improving interracial relations on campus and in our society in general. In addition, CUASA will be a liaison between its members, the Creighton community and the surrounding Omaha area. CUASA also pledges to be an active voice on campus, representing the University’s African American population and continually working towards improving the campus.
The Alliance is a student organization that has been organized to address the topic of sexual orientation at Creighton. CULSA is a student organization designed to promote the appreciation of Latino heritage and pride through cultural awareness amongst members of the Creighton community. Membership is open to the entire student body and is not limited to those of Latino descent. Students will have opportunities to gain valuable leadership skills and to experience fellowship through various group-building events; thus, creating a support system for members and advocating for the retention of students.
