Education and Certification Program for the Use of Animals in Research and Teaching

You must complete training through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) to be added to an IACUC protocol. You must be on an IACUC protocol to handle live animals.

Go to https://www.creighton.edu/researchservices/rcocommittees/iacuc/aohs/ and select the 'Medical Questionnaire'. Send completed electronic version to iacuc@creighton.edu.

Tetanus Vaccination

Submit proof of vaccination to iacuc@creighton.edu

Animal Medical Records Training

Contact Researchcomped@creighton.edu for access and to confirm completion.

Laboratory Safety Training

Go to Environmental Health and Safety Online Training to complete this requirement.

Globally Harmonized System (GHS) Training

This training is now part of CITI. Please complete it at www.citiprogram.org

Radiation Safety Orientation Training

Anyone working in a lab with a radiation license or anyone who frequently visits a lab with a radiation license must complete this training. Click here to view the video and complete the quiz.

NIH FCOI Training and submit the completion certificate to Criss I, room 123 or email it to researchcomped@creighton.edu

Microisolator Training - there are a total of two steps for this training

Anyone working with live mice and/or hamsters in the animal facility. This is also required for anyone working with live mice and hamsters wanting independent access to the Animal Facility

After being added to an approved IACUC protocol, your investigator and/or appointed lab coordinator must contact the ARF Manager at ARF@creighton.edu or 402.280.1834 to request enrollment in the microisolator training course.
