Molecular Biology Research Core Facility

This research core facility provides both services and instrumentation for all investigators at Creighton University who utilize molecular biology techniques in their research. The services provided include DNA sequencing and oligonucleotide synthesis. In addition, faculty, technicians and graduate students have access to some of the most precise technology and equipment available for their individual use on a sign up basis. This equipment includes:

  • Applied Biosystems 7500 Fast Real-Time PCR ($6.00 per hour)
  • BioRad CFX384 Touch Real-Time PCR ($6.00 per hour)
  • BiaCore 8K SPR (Surface Plasmon Resonance) instrument ($25.00 per hour for first 3 hours and $10.00 an hour for additional hours.)
  • Typhoon 5 Biomolecular Imager
  • Beckman LS 6500 Liquid Scintillation Counter
  • Sorvall WX + UltraSeries Centrifuge with 2 rotors
  • Beckman Coulter Ultracentrifuge XL-90 with rotors
  • Thermocyclers AB 9700
  • Konica Medical Film Processor SRX-101
  • Supply Center for Life Technology orders

These Molecular Facilities are located in room 382, Criss III. Please use the Reservation System to schedule usage.

Azenta Sanger Sequencing

You can setup an account with Azenta to get Sanger sequencing. Drop Box is located in the Core Lab Criss III, Room 382. Drop off by noon M-F
