FINDING PREREQUISITES

HOW TO FIND A COURSE'S PREREQUISITES

  1. Go to the NEST -- you don't have to log in.
  2. Click on "Schedule of Courses" in the menu.
  3. Select the term you want to search. Click Submit.
  4. Search for a course.
    • Search by Subject and Course Number and any other parameters.
  5. Click Class Search.
  6. Click on the Course Title under Sections Found. (See Item 1 below.)
  7. Review Detailed Class Information. (See Item 2 below.)
    • Look for information on Prerequisites, General Requirements, Restrictions, etc.
      • Prerequisites are specific courses you must already have taken.
      • Corequisites are specific courses you must take in the same term.
      • Restrictions examples include Classification, Field of Study, Degree Program, etc.
    • Any course may have multiple prerequisites, requirements, or restrictions.
      • If you have not met all the requirements, you will receive a registration error.
