Administrative Pay Deductions and Corrections
Federal and state laws require that federal, state, and local income taxes be deducted from an employee's compensation. The University follows federal and state law accordingly.
Federal Wage and Hour Regulations
Non-exempt (hourly) employees (those who are paid on a bi-weekly basis) shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half times pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a workweek. Non-working time paid by the University for sick leave, holidays, vacation, funeral, or personal time off is not included when determining overtime pay. Employees are required to obtain supervisory approval prior to working any overtime hours. The University defines a workweek as Saturday through Friday.
