The use of University funds to purchase gifts, gift certificates or other gratuities for employees is generally not allowed. Occasional use of University funds for birthday, holiday food items, retirement or University sponsored service awards administered by the Human Resources department is acceptable, provided necessary supervisory approvals are obtained. Any items disallowed above will be referred to payroll to be included in the employee’s earnings in their next paycheck and the appropriate payroll taxes will be withheld.
