As part of the Jesuit Residence project, storm sewer work is required by the City of Omaha that needs to be completed before students move back in for the fall semester, or by Aug. 11. This requires the closure of the southbound lane of 24th Street, from Burt Street to the entrance of the top level of the parking garage, and closure of the entrance to Old Gym Drive for up to three weeks. Work is planned to start on July 5.

During this time, the best parking options for buildings in the area, including handicap stalls, are at the 24th Street parking garage and the lots at the west end of the California Mall. At this time, no pedestrian access up Old Gym Drive will be permitted due to the heavy equipment being used in the area and the size of the opening in the drive.

Creighton’s Facilities Management Office will coordinate with the contractor to maintain the schedule and open things up as quickly as possible, even incrementally to get traffic flow moving again. Updates will be sent out if anything changes.
