Creighton Public Safety is committed to the security and well-being of our University community across Creighton’s Omaha and Phoenix campuses. Included below are helpful reminders about the tools and educational opportunities that exist for our students, faculty and staff.

CreightonAlert

In the event of an emergency or possible threat to campus, CreightonAlert is used to reach all students, faculty and staff with time-sensitive information through the use of voice, email and text messaging.

All members of the Creighton community are automatically opted into email notifications but must choose to be enrolled in text or phone notifications. It is highly recommended to engage with all methods of emergency notifications to maximize safety. Any information you provide will not be shared with other entities or databases; it will be kept private and confidential in the Everbridge system.

To enroll in text and phone notifications, log into creighton.edu/cualert. Please note that with phone and text notifications you will be asked to confirm receipt of emergency messages. Be sure to acknowledge receiving the messages to avoid a repeat text or call.

Emergency Response Guides

New Emergency Response Guides (ERG) were distributed on the Omaha and Phoenix campuses in August. These printed flip-books provide quick access to important instructions in case of emergency scenarios, including fire, severe weather or an active assailant.

These are the physical counterpart to Creighton’s digital ERG, which can be accessed at any time on the Human Resources intranet page. ERGs are specific to each campus and can be found in highly trafficked locations, including all main entrances and exits.

Emergency Operations Plan

The ERGs deployed in both Omaha and Phoenix are condensed versions of Creighton University’s master Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). This document is published as directed by University Policy 2.1.34, Emergency Operations Planning, which defines the procedures and organizational structures that will ensure Creighton University is a secure and resilient campus, with the capabilities required to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risks. The EOP details how Creighton University will implement an all-hazards approach in support of emergency management planning and operations.
