Parking Information for 2023-2024

Creighton employees in Omaha can begin purchasing surface-lot parking permits for the 2023-2024 academic year through JayPark beginning Monday, June 26.

There will again be a tiered pricing structure, decals will be mailed directly to homes and enforcement will begin on Aug. 1. To receive your decal prior to Aug. 1, please order your permit by July 21. The peel-and-stick decals should be displayed on the inside of your windshield on the passenger side. If you change vehicles for any reason, temporarily or permanently, the decal can be transferred to the other vehicle.

Employees interested in garage parking must register by 11:59 p.m. CDT on Friday, June 16, through JayPark to be placed into a lottery for those spaces.

What is the permit pricing for 2023-2024?

Benefit-eligible employees can purchase a surface-lot decal for the 2023-2024 academic year based on the following tiered annual salary thresholds:

• Earning under $50,000: $300
• Earning between $50,000 and $100,00: $450
• Earning more than $100,000: $550

Garage decals are $600 and require successful participation in the lottery process. 

Nonbenefit-eligible employees can purchase a surface lot decal based on the following tiered annual salary threshold:

• Less than or equal to 16 hours per week: $150 (annual); $50 (semester)
• 17-28 hours per week: $200 (annual) $100 (semester)
• More than 28 hours per week: $300 (annual); $150 (semester)

Benefit and nonbenefit-eligible employees also can choose to purchase perimeter-only parking decals for $200. Short-term permits also are available for $5 daily, $15 weekly and $60 monthly.

Garage parking details

The University has 751 stalls inside covered parking garages, but for overnight security, most of those stalls are allocated to residential students. Please note:

• New this year, to maximize garage usage, vehicles with garage decals will not be authorized to park in surface lots during the business day (6 a.m.-4 p.m.). If you prefer to park in a surface lot closer to your office, don’t buy a garage decal, which will only be valid in the awarded garage. Vehicles with garage permits parking in surface lots during the business day will be cited.
• The tops of parking garages are reserved for employee surface-lot decals during the business day.
• From 4 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weeknights and all through the weekend, vehicles with garage decals may park in any student or employee lot.
• 15% of the 20th Street garage is reserved for employees, and the 85 stalls in the School of Dentistry may only be purchased by those approved by the Dental Dean’s Office.
• Beginning June 20, employees selected for garage parking will receive offer notifications via their Creighton email.
• You must accept the offer and authorize the charge to your paycheck or credit card by 11:59 p.m. CDT on June 23. If you do not respond, the system will rescind the offer and move to the next employee on the wait list.

Important dates to remember

• June 5-16: Register for the garage lottery
• June 19: Garage lottery is held
• June 20: Garage offers sent to Creighton emails
• June 23: Accept and pay for garage decal by this date or lose the offer
• June 26: All other permit purchasing begins
• Aug. 1: Enforcement begins; permits or decals must be displayed to park on campus property
