Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate student speakers to present short, TEDx-style talks during Mission Week this fall. This year's theme will focus on the fourth Universal Apostolic Preference of the Society of Jesus: Caring for Our Common Home.

To nominate a student, please send the student's name and contact information to Cindy Schmersal, EdD, vice president of Mission and Ministry, at CynthiaSchmersal@creighton.edu.

Last year, students spoke at the student perspective event at the Harper Center, Hixson-Lied Auditorium, on the theme Journeys in Hope. They were:

  • Jesus Arellano, physical therapy student, School of Pharmacy and Health Professions
  • Montana Garcia, senior social work major, College of Arts and Sciences
  • McKenna Gervais, junior biochemistry and Spanish major, College of Arts and Sciences
  • Frederick Gill, EdD in Interdisciplinary Leadership student
  • Patrick Grindey, junior marketing major, Heider College of Business
  • Jon Herrington, senior theology major, College of Arts and Sciences
