Public Safety will conduct a lockdown drill for the Omaha campus on Tuesday, Aug. 1, at 4 p.m. Public Safety will issue a Creighton Alert at the initiation and conclusion of the drill. There are no actions required to be taken by members of the community and classes should proceed without interruption. However, no one except Public Safety will be able to enter through doors with card access during the drill. The drill will last approximately 10-15 minutes.

The safety and security of our campus is of utmost importance. To foster a safe environment for our community, we conduct drills to exercise our procedures and systems. This drill will test the electronic access control system to ensure that doors lock properly. During a lockdown, all doors with electronic card readers (both exterior and interior doors) will lock and remain inaccessible until the threat is mitigated. Emergency egress doors will never be locked during a lockdown.

To learn more about how our lockdown procedures are an important component of our campus response to an active assailant event, complete the Active Assailant course through the Bridge learning platform. Update your contact information for Creighton Alert messages here.
