With the closure of the Health Sciences Library in the BioInformation Center in mid-August and the merger of library spaces at Reinert, University Libraries and Facilities staff are undertaking a major refresh of library spaces.

“This merger provides an opportunity to reimagine student spaces in Reinert,” says Elizabeth Kiscaden, assistant vice provost for Library Services. Projects will focus on enhancing the student experience by modernizing the look of library spaces, increasing the collection space to house materials from the Health Sciences Library, and building more individual study spaces.

Construction at Reinert is expected to begin directly after the conclusion of the Spring term and will last throughout the summer. All physical library collections, staff and services from the Health Sciences Library will be relocated to the Reinert Library by the start of the Fall term.

You may expect the following disruptions to library services throughout the summer:

  • Book stacks: Book stacks across the library may be periodically unavailable for browsing. These sections will be clearly marked. Please see a staff member if you need items in these areas.
  • Office delivery: Faculty are encouraged to use our office delivery service to receive items in a timely manner. To request an item for on campus office delivery in Jaysearch, please find your item, click on “Request,” then under “Pick up Location” choose “Personal Delivery – Work Address.” If you need assistance, please contact ralcirc@creighton.edu
  • Quiet study: Due to the nature of the construction, library staff cannot guarantee quiet study space throughout the summer.
  • Limited parking: Access to the parking lot between Reinert and St. John’s may be limited. Handicapped accessible parking in the area will remain available
