Enhancing Internal and External Websites

Dear Faculty and Staff, 

We recognize this is an extremely busy time of year, but we wanted to be sure to provide an important update about our web presence before the end of the academic year. 

Thanks to a tremendous campus-wide effort, in 2021 we removed internal content from our website and launched the new creighton.edu. During that time we also created a new internal website, my.creighton.edu. As part of our ongoing strategic plan implementation, we are continually working to enhance our external website, creighton.edu, as well as reimagine our internal site, my.creighton.edu. To that end, in collaboration with partners across campus, we are embarking on the next phase of the work, known as “Web Phase 2.”

Creighton.edu – our external site – is our largest marketing platform to influence prospective students, faculty and staff, and the community. The three primary purposes of creighton.edu:

1. Recruitment – Attract prospective students, faculty and staff by providing information they need quickly and easily
2. Reputation – Promote Creighton, showcasing our achievements and unique qualities
3. Regulation – Provide information for institutional and specialized accreditation as well as select compliance requirements

my.creighton.edu – our internal site – serves our internal Creighton community to provide easy access to information and tools required for our work. The primary purposes of our internal site are:

1. Communication – news, events, announcements
2. Information and Resources – easy access to department information, services, directories
3. Collaboration – A platform for faculty, staff and students to collaborate on projects and initiatives
4. Streamlined Workflows and Tools – Digital resources, including applications, forms, workflows, enterprise services, etc.

As part of the discovery and planning phase, we will be engaging representatives from faculty, staff, and student communities to gather input and feedback. We will keep you updated on our progress in Creighton Today, as well as a new Web Phase 2 site that will be launched soon. Additional opportunities for education and training will also be provided in the next academic year. We truly appreciate your support and feedback with these important website enhancements.
