In conjunction with the Graduate School’s May commencement and hooding ceremony, awards were presented to two graduate faculty members.
Dean’s Award for Graduate Faculty Excellence
LaShaune Johnson, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Clinical Research and Public Health, received the Dean’s Award for Graduate Faculty Excellence, recognizing a faculty member with a strong record of teaching, demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching and learning, active involvement in research and scholarship and the ability to engage and inspire students to be independent thinkers.
Outstanding Graduate Mentor Award
Lisa Johnson, DNP, assistant professor in the College of Nursing, received the Outstanding Graduate Mentor Award. Nominations for this award come directly from the graduate student body and recognize a faculty member who positively influences students’ academic success, fosters an environment that is supportive of graduate students, and demonstrates the Jesuit ideals of magis and cura personalis in their interactions with students.
