This Friday, April 14, from noon to 2 p.m. Creighton students will be hosting a Be the Match cheek swab event at Skinner Mall, in front of the Skutt Student Center on Creighton’s campus.
Be the Match is a non-profit organization that helps people who are diagnosed with life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma by connecting them with bone marrow donors.
A 30-second cheek swab allows someone to enter a world-wide donor registry to potentially help save a life.
The lead organizer of this event is Creighton student Emma Haney. Emma’s niece was recently diagnosed with aplastic anemia and will potentially need a bone marrow transplant.
