The Creighton Cupboard, our on-campus food pantry, has hosted several new programs through the spring and summer. Here are a few highlights:
Creighton Cupboard Move-Out Drive
Donation bins were placed in the seven residence halls across campus, encouraging students to donate any unwanted, unused items to the Cupboard before moving out. It was beyond successful! Students donated more than 2,000 pounds of food and personal hygiene items! Seven hundred pounds of items were donated to The Open Door Mission. The items will help throughout the summer and into the start of the fall semester.
Anyday Dish Cupboard Gift
Creighton Cupboard was able to gift students in the spring with an Anyday dish. The Anyday dish is a microwave safe, glass dish that students can cook ANYTHING in, making cooking on campus easy and healthy!
Cupboard Garden
The inaugural Creighton Cupboard Garden is thriving! Located in the Ignatian Garden on 18th & Burt Street, the Creighton Cupboard is growing bell peppers, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes and herbs for the first time for the students.
Summer Preview Donations
The executive team for Summer Preview asked families coming in for the orientation program to bring items in for the Cupboard. More than 300 pounds of donations were collected.
